A Different Man

“Are you ready?” The Security Guard asked.

“Are you?” The Old Man replied with a lifted brow.

The Guard nodded.

“I’m gonna be hauling ass out there,” The Old Man stated. “You make sure you get everyone out the door as soon as I pull up. I’ll honk the horn. I don’t wanna be out there with God-knows-what with my thumb up my ass.”

“Hey! Language.” The Lady smacked The Old Man in the shoulder, then pointed to the Young Girl cowering in the corner.

“Will you guys keep it down?” the Businessman whispered, damn near louder than they were talking. “They’ll hear you.” Read More

Best 2010s Horror Movies in GIFs

Top 25 Horror Movies since 2010

It’s OCTOBER! (Duh) and with the new month comes a new top 10, a special top 10. My favorite horror movies of the last 10 years. 25 scary movies (I’ve seen more) of the past ten years, ranked from hella scary to just creepy (only a handful of these movies actually scared the sh*t out of me).

Now, I should say, this is not a list of the best movies that happen to be horror, nor my favorite, but this is a list (from 25 to 1) of the movies that I found to be the most frightening. Also,  I love horror movies, but I would never claim to be this all-knowing genius that you should come to for recommendations lol. I hate zombie flicks and not a fan of slasher movies like Halloween or Jason. So, yeah…

Enjoy, and stay tuned for a bonus list of the movies I haven’t seen (but intend to), for those of you who are gonna be “what about-ing” by the time I get to number 1.

Wow (I’m doing too much with the parentheses) lol.  Read More

The Devil in the Snow

A platoon ascended a hill that hadn’t been walked over in some time. The prints in the snow were of the soldiers and their horses only. They were headed toward a castle that had been abandoned for hundreds of years now. But report after report stated that people had been missing and were taken to the old Cecil Keep, the last standing tower of the Oakland Castle. But they didn’t call it the Cecil Keep these days, it was known as… Read More

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary with WordPress.com! is the notification I received over the weekend. Anniversary? What Anniversary? 8 year anniversary – since I’ve joined WordPress. Yikes. Hadn’t realized it’d been that long, seeing that I’ve only been really active since January 2019. But I won’t argue with it. If it’s been 8 years, it’s been 8 years. Read More

A Date With Grace

Love a clean short story with a happy ending. Jodi Jensen does it again! Must Read

Jodi Jensen Writes

“Gracie Potter? Is that you?”

Grabbing the side of her long, flowing skirt, Grace
gave a brief curtsey as she scanned the sea of familiar faces, trying to see
who’d called out.

“All right, folks, next up for bid we have a date with
Grace!”

She smiled and waved as the crowd erupted in applause,
pleased with the turnout for the charity auction. The small, historic opera
house was bursting at the seams.

“Where are we taking her?” a man shouted above the
noise.

The announcer held up two tickets. “To the rodeo, then
the carnival after.” He glanced in her direction and grinned. “Who wants to
start the bidding?”

“A hundred dollars!”

“One-fifty!”

“One seventy-five!”

Voice after voice rang out in rapid succession, and
suddenly, the bids were up to four hundred.

“Going once…”

“Five hundred dollars!”

Grace searched the faces in the back of the room, her
gaze…
