Best 2010s Horror Movies in GIFs

Top 25 Horror Movies since 2010

It’s OCTOBER! (Duh) and with the new month comes a new top 10, a special top 10. My favorite horror movies of the last 10 years. 25 scary movies (I’ve seen more) of the past ten years, ranked from hella scary to just creepy (only a handful of these movies actually scared the sh*t out of me).

Now, I should say, this is not a list of the best movies that happen to be horror, nor my favorite, but this is a list (from 25 to 1) of the movies that I found to be the most frightening. Also,  I love horror movies, but I would never claim to be this all-knowing genius that you should come to for recommendations lol. I hate zombie flicks and not a fan of slasher movies like Halloween or Jason. So, yeah…

Enjoy, and stay tuned for a bonus list of the movies I haven’t seen (but intend to), for those of you who are gonna be “what about-ing” by the time I get to number 1.

Wow (I’m doing too much with the parentheses) lol.  Read More

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary with WordPress.com! is the notification I received over the weekend. Anniversary? What Anniversary? 8 year anniversary – since I’ve joined WordPress. Yikes. Hadn’t realized it’d been that long, seeing that I’ve only been really active since January 2019. But I won’t argue with it. If it’s been 8 years, it’s been 8 years. Read More

Writing Prompts: Sci-Fi

Science Fiction Clichés

A few times a month, I’ll explore some of my more ambitious story ideas with a short story. Genres I’ve never written before with plotlines and characters that are way out of my league. But this is why I write them, to develop my skill. Read More

Non-Marvel/DC Superheroes

This list took way longer than I expected. Here I am thinking there were just a handful of superheroes outside the DCEU/MCU, but after just an hour of research, I remembered… the hundreds of heroes from the 80s and 90s that held down the superhero genre. Before the Avengers, alongside Tim Burton’s batman, there were some real gems out there. So I’ve put together a list of ten favorites, short clips. I’m sure everyone will enjoy and reminisce. But first, here are a few honorable mentions that didn’t make the cut. Dash from Incredibles, Megamind (not Metro Man, lol), Captain Planet (yes!!!!), The Rocketeer (who remembers this one?), David Dunn from M. Night Shyamalans Unbreakable and Hellboy. No, hellboy didn’t make the list *ducks*. Read More

Fantasy/Mythical Creatures

If you hadn’t guessed by now, I love me some top 10 lists. Outside of friends and family, I rank everything. And the latest addition will be fantasy creatures/monsters.
IMO, if you are a sci-fi/fantasy writer (which I am), you must have some knowledge on mythical beings. If you don’t, get to it! 🙂 Remember, I said “IMO” Read More

Soundtracks for writing

Almost like coffee, music is a must when I’m writing (well, for me it is). Mood Music! It could be calming music or EPIC!, but no matter what I’m writing or how I’m feeling, one thing’s for sure is my writing music has little-to-no lyrics. It’s about the music, the instruments, and my story is the lyrics. Cheesy, no? And I’m a creature of habit, I find something/someone I like, I stick with it. So, one or two of these composers will make an appearance on this list more than once. Read More
